Crossed Eyes Treatment

Dr. Golareh Fazilat provides crossed eyes treatment for children of all ages at Children’s Eye Center of Orange County. Crossed eyes, also known as strabismus, is a common problem among children.

What causes crossed eyes?

The first step in treating crossed eyes is determining the cause. The eyes have several muscles, and if some of them are weaker than others, they are not able to work together. If your child’s brain is receiving a different message from each eye, it will ignore the weaker one. This causes the weaker eye to lose some of its vision.

There is a greater risk of crossed eyes for children who have a family member with strabismus, or if they have a lazy eye or are farsighted and strain to see objects. Other things, like damaged retinas, diabetes, and brain tumors, can also contribute to crossed eyes.
